This story clearly denies the logic behind, “Guns don’t kill people; people kill people.” The man obviously wouldn’t have the means or resources to harm these police officers without the use of firearms. I’m very interested to find out if this gunman obtained his gun legally and if Maryland, Virginia, or the District of Columbia require any psychological confirmation before purchasing such a firearm.

This article really riled me up. The guy was crazy. Period. If he was motivated to kill, I’m willing that, sans gun, he would have found another way to do what he thought he needed to.

The above quote is the last paragraph (of four) from the article. One and only one sentence questioning how this guy got the firearm. That’s the whole issue! Nutcases shouldn’t have guns! I might have heard wrong. But I thought that the family has said that he was mentally ill. That’s a good reason to not give someone a firearm.

But to give credit where credit is due, the author did reemphasize the oddity that no one is really talking about where the weapons came from (the quote below).Unfortunately, he didn’t bring that up until his comments.

This brings up an interesting detail that the media doesn’t seem to be focusing on: where did Bedell obtain his firearm? I’m very curious.

As long as people who shouldn’t have guns get guns, the pro-gun crowd will have egg on their face.
