Well, I’ve seen worse depictions of preppers and I’ve seen better depictions… but this one was pretty rough. I’m torn. I can’t decide if they were trying to make an interesting story or if they just don’t get it.
Here’s some highlights:
0:16 – Preppers “are worried about the direction of this country.”
Really? Is that why preppers do their thing? I must be a wacko! I prep because I know there will be a power outage. I know that in my lifetime, I’ll get snowed in. I’d love to blame the Democrats, but I can’t lay those problems at their feet. Maybe I’ll blame the Masons… and their weather machines.
1:19 – “if the country falls apart”
Well, I guess I’m getting ready for the country falls apart, but not really.
1:52 – “we’re going to have to fight”
What? Fight? Who is going to fight who? Could you have picked two folks a little more agitated?
2:35 – “planning for the country’s demise”
Who is? Didn’t we cover this? Why do you keep coming back to this? I know! You’re trying to make preppers look crazy.
2:44 – “kill innocent people”
Who? I’m not killing anyone!
2:53 – “doing whatever it takes”
That’s right! I’m building shelves and planting a garden! Fear me! I bought extra toliet paper! Tremble at my feet.
4:43 – “afraid of a nuclear blowout”?
What? The anchor actually asked if they were afraid of a nuclear blowout. I should be surprised and I’m not. I really just absolutely disgusted. Listen closely. I’m only going to say this once…
I’m not afraid of a damn thing. I’m not worried. I am cognizant of reality. I know that bad things can happen. And I take responsibility for my life. Therefore, I am preparing.
